Free July 4th Concert and Fireworks Show at Liberty Park Announced
Reggae legend The Wailers to headline the BULA One Love Celebration

Salt Lake City – A new, free Fourth of July concert and fireworks show will take place in Salt Lake City this year at Liberty Park. The first annual BULA One Love Celebration, a free music and fireworks event at Liberty Park will be held Monday, July 4, 2011 from 2:00-10:00 p.m. The event is anticipated to become the premier annual Fourth of July celebration in Salt Lake City for all ages to enjoy.

The BULA One Love Celebration is presented by Bula Beverage, a Salt Lake based company that is the brainchild of NFL athlete and Utah resident Sione Po’uha, a one-time Ute football player currently a defensive tackle for the New York Jets, who is sponsoring and hosting the event.

“I am a son of this great city and state” said Po’uha, who grew up near Liberty Park and went on to play football at East High School and the University of Utah.

“From this community I’ve learned so many of life’s lessons, I can remember Liberty Park being the place for me to play, run and enjoy throughout my whole life. This celebration is my way of saying thank you to a place where my roots are firm and strong, let’s celebrate.”

“Bula” is a greeting used in Fiji, similar to the Hawaiian word, “aloha.” Bula means “life,” and is a way of wishing peace, good health and good fortune.

BULA One Love Celebration will be headlined by the legendary roots reggae band The Wailers, founded by the late Bob Marley. The musical lineup also includes world music acts Gramps Morgan, Sons of Manasseh, and local favorites Cubworld and Rebel Zion.
